John Zapalac's Candidate Statement

Gangs and drugs are voter’s top concerns.

As Police Chief, Deputy Sheriff and Homicide Sergeant with 28 years in Tulare County law enforcement, it’s time for change in the Sheriff’s Department.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice, Masters Degree in Leadership
  2. Past president Tulare County Police Chiefs Association

As Sheriff, I will:

  1. Fight gangs and drugs in urban and rural Tulare County.
  2. Restore confidence and trust in the department
  3. Modernize the department
  4. Maximize taxpayer dollars to ensure public safety
  5. Fight early release of criminals
  6. Address juvenile crime, introduce early intervention programs

I will bring professionalism, treat deputies fairly, promote based on merit, ensure deputies receive quality, life-saving training, and create retention programs for continuity and quality law enforcement.

Current leadership has had 16 years to address these issues and have offered few solutions.

No change means no new ideas to fight crime, violence and under-funded law enforcement program.

Voter’s want leaders to do what they say. They want their money’s worth.

I will bring change, new vision and new leadership to Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.

I will be a full-time, 21st Century Sheriff.  Please vote John Zapalac for Sheriff.
